The San Diego Wild Animal Park

What is the San Diego Wild Animal Park?

Affiliated with the San Diego Zoo, the Wild Animal Park is an 1,800 acre wildlife preserve located some 30 miles north east of the Zoo in the town of Escondido. This allows the visitor to actually see herds of exotic animals in an environment close to their native homes in Asia and Africa.


What can we do there?

How about a photo safari? With over 250 species of animals roaming freely in herds, you're likely to get that amazing photograph up close and personal. There's even a sunset safari for adults only. For kids, there's the railway tour.


Tickets, tickets

The park is generally open from 9am to 4pm every day except Summer when it remains open till 9pm. General admission is $26.50 for adults, an $19.50 for children under 11. Children under 2 are free. This includes use of the railway and all shows. There is a senior discount.

If you also plan to visit the Zoo, you can purchase a Two-Park ticket at $52.65 for adults, and $35.35 for children. These tickets must be used within 5 days of purchase.
